PM is Pleasantly Surprised by People's Interest in Traditional Khmer Theater

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen said that he did not expect many people in Phnom Penh to be interested in watching a lot of traditional Khmer theater, during the inauguration ceremony of the new temple at Baramey Vongkot Borey pagoda in Toul Kork, Phnom Penh, on Monday morning, 24 April 2023.

Upon seeing many members of the public come to watch the traditional theater performance during the pagoda's inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister said that he was able to recall fond childhood memories of people bringing their mats out to sit outside and watch Khmer theater together.

During his speech, the Prime Minister also thanked the owner of Booyoung Town, located next to the new pagoda, for granting access to their land for the inauguration ceremony.
