Village in Lockdown on Koh Rong

sihanoukville: Six people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Koh Rong’s Koh Touch Village. This has led to a lockdown in the area on the island, as announced by its Governor, Mr. Nuon Bunthol. He says the six people testing positive have had contact with other villagers in the community. The lockdown order was made to allow for community-wide testing.

Mr. Bunthol has also ordered business owners to suspend transportation of tourists to and from the village until further notice, but boats carrying groceries and other necessities are still allowed. The Preah Sihanouk Health Department has brought the six patients to Sihanoukville Hospital for treatment. Any other villagers who experience symptoms of Covid-19 are being advised to inform health authorities immediately.
