Thiago Teixeira and His Manager Granted Cambodian Citizenship from King

PHNOM PENH: The King of Cambodia signed a Royal Degree on Tuesday, 11 April 2023, granting Cambodian citizenship to Brazilian Kun Khmer fighter, Thiago Teixeira, and his Polish-American manager.

Thiago Teixeira Machado was born on 28 July 1988 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, while his manager, Roma Maria Rozanska Steffen is a Polish-American, born on 21 April 1983.

Thiago and his manager were granted Cambodian citizenship three days after Prime Minister Hun Sen put in a special request to the King on 8 April. The Prime Minister also gave Teixeira US $20,000 after he was stripped of his World Title by the World Muay Thai Organization (WMO) on 1 April.

WMO claim that Teixeira brought the sport of Muay Thai "into disrepute" after he publicly showed his support for Kun Khmer. He has been banned from all future WMO activities.
