PHNOM PENH: The Samdech Techo Young Volunteer Doctors Association (TYDA) provided free medical treatment to nearly 1,000 people at Toul Kork Primary School, in Phnom Penh over the weekend.

According to the report, 925 people came for treatment totalling 2,028 medical cases: only 29 of which had to be referred for treatment. The volunteer doctors treated 95 cases of general diseases, 97 cases of oral diseases, 27 cases of ear, nose and throat diseases, 87 cases of heart disease, 250 cases involving eye care, and 5 gynaecological cases. The team also engaged in minor surgeries and treated skin conditions.

The Governor of Toul Kork District, Chea Pisey, expressed his deepest gratitude to the TYDA on behalf of the people of Toul Kork, which is comprised of 10 sangkats. He commended the team’s mental and physical dedication to treating his constituents with love and kindness and their responsibility and courage in the face of fatigue and infection. He credited these attributes for Cambodia’s speedy and successful economic recovery from the Covid-19 crisis.

Chan Sophors, Executive Vice President and Chairman of TYDA Mission, noted that this is the second time that volunteers from the TYDA have provided free medical treatment to the people of Toul Kork and promised they would visit all 25 provinces to provide free medical treatment to the people of Cambodia.
