Hun Many: Angkor Sankranta Volunteers Provided Invaluable Experience

PHNOM PENH: President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) Hun Many sent about 500 youth volunteers from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap on the morning of 10 April 2023 to prepare for the upcoming Angkor Sankranta event.

Hun Many stated that Angkor Sankranta is a unique learning opportunity for young volunteers who will learn from the experience through observing and applying the examples set by their peers-an experience that cannot be replicated in school or the workplace.

He emphasized that the working group of the Youth Federation of Cambodia has a clear division of roles and responsibilities amongst members of different levels; that its structure is a model for young volunteers take and apply to their future careers.

Every year volunteers go through a strenuous interview process to guarantee they are right for the work necessary to pull off a successful Angkor Sankranta. Hun Many commended the volunteers for carrying out specific duties in a clear, responsible and highly professional manner.

The UYFC provided accommodation, food and transportation to the volunteers for the event. No additional personal expenses were paid as the volunteers were expected to participate in the spirit of sacrifice towards the event.
