Prime Minister recalls Cambodia's military capabilities during the war

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen presided over a ceremony to award certificates and diplomas to the trainees and students of the National Institute of Business (NIB) this morning, 30 March 2023, at the Koh Pich Exhibition Hall.

There, he recalled Cambodia's military technical capabilities during the war, saying that if Cambodians had been united at that time, the country would now have a stronger military.

He added that the Cambodian military during the war from 1979 to 1991 was trained by countries with strong militaries such as China, North Korea, the Soviet Union, Vietnam and some liberal countries. However, Cambodian military training at that time was used to kill Cambodians alone, which should never have happened.

The Prime Minister noted that the current military situation is different from training for development.
