Minister of Agriculture Welcomes 11 Former VOD Employees

PHNOM PENH: Minister of Agriculture Dith Tina welcomed 11 former employees of the Voice of Democracy (VOD) in joining the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

In a social media post on 29 March the minister wrote, "Welcome to the 11 former VOD staff members who will be joining the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in the near future."

The Minister of Agriculture hopes that the knowledge and skills of these 11 new employees will help the Cambodian agricultural sector grow and strengthen.

The VOD’s media license was officially revoked by the Ministry of Information on the morning of 13 February 2023, after the online newspaper failed to write an apology letter to the Royal Government of Cambodia and Gen. Hun Manet for publishing false information. They were accused of incorrectly reporting that Gen. Hun Manet signed on behalf of the Prime Minister to provide assistance to Turkey after a massive earthquake.

On 14 February 2023, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced his decision to provide employment as government officers for VOD staff who lost their jobs.
