PHNOM PENH: The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar bin Ibrahim, is arriving in Cambodia for an official state visit on 27 March 2023, at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen.
The Malaysian Prime Minister's official visit to Cambodia will give new impetus to the strengthening of bilateral relations in all fields between the two countries, will contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region, as well as contribute to the continued development and prosperity of the ASEAN and wider international community.
According to a statement from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two Prime Ministers are expected to hold bilateral meetings to discuss new ways to further deepen long-standing bilateral ties, covering cooperation in all fields, from political security to society and culture.
The Cambodian and Malaysian Prime Ministers will exchange views on sub-regional, regional and international issues of common interest and concern, preside over the signing of a number of cooperation documents, and also hold a joint press conference.
In addition, Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim will join Prime Minister Hun Sen for the 7th National Ramadan Iftar Dinner and will participate in the Isya’ and Terawikh Prayer with Muslim scholars and community members in Cambodia.
Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim will also pay a courtesy visit to the King of Cambodia, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, at the Royal Palace, and will pay separate courtesy visits to the President of the Senate, Say Chhum, and the President of the National Assembly, Heng Samrin.
