PM Urges Officials to Look Into Domestically Producing Animal Feed

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has urged officials to foster a more productive environment for strong domestic animal husbandry and to look into addressing the issue of high cost imported animal feed.

The Prime Minister said that simply encouraging people to raise animals for sale is not enough to further develop the domestic sector, especially if farmers still have to rely on purchasing high cost imported animal feed. He suggested officials to look into the local production of animal feed, which would help lower costs and make feed more affordable for farmers.

"We have to find every way to solve this problem faced by of our farmers," he said.

The Prime Minister shared these remarks at the closing ceremony of the annual meeting to review the work of the Ministry of Agriculture on Friday, 24 March 2023.
