Cambodian Foreign Minister to Visit Morocco and Egypt Later This Month

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, DPM Prak Sokhonn, will lead a delegation to visit the Kingdom of Morocco from 27-28 March, and the Arab Republic of Egypt from 29-30 March 2023.

The Cambodian delegation will be paying an official state visit to the Kingdom of Morocco at the invitation of the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs of African Cooperation and Immigration, Nasser Bourita, and to the Arab Republic of Egypt at the invitation of the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic, Sameh Shoukry.

In Morocco, the Cambodian Foreign Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with Minister Nasser Bourita to discuss strengthening relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Morocco in various fields, including economics, trade, tourism, agriculture and education, as well as regional and international issues of common interest and concern.

After the meeting, the two leaders will preside over a signing ceremony for an agreement on air transport services, to promote tourism, business and trade between the two countries.

During his official visit to Egypt, DPM Prak Sokhonn will hold talks with Minister Sameh Shoukry to review bilateral cooperation between Cambodia and Egypt and discuss key regional and international developments.

The two sides also plan to sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding on cooperation in the fields of culture, education, diplomacy and consular affairs.

The Cambodian Foreign Minister's upcoming visits to Morocco and Egypt are expected to further strengthen and expand existing ties and traditional cooperation between Cambodia and the two African countries.
