DPM Tea Banh: Sports Infrastructure Prepared for SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games

SIEM REAP: The Minister of National Defense and Head of the Cambodia SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC), DPM Tea Banh, has said that Cambodia has finished preparing its sports and public infrastructure for the upcoming 2023 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.

He added that Cambodia has also developed new sports resources, trained technical officers, referees, judges and coaches, and subsequently strengthened the capacity of the National Sports Federation.

Speaking at the Royal Torch Lighting Ceremony for the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games on Tuesday, 21 March 2023, at Angkor Wat, DPM Tea Banh emphasized that Cambodia has been actively working to ensure the upcoming games will be a historic success for the nation, bring prestige to the country’s image and share with the world Cambodia’s rich culture, civilization, and tourism potential.

"This event will promote Cambodia and share with the world our culture, civilization, tourism, economy and society, which has become more prosperous through win-win politics,” said DPM Tea Banh.

He added that a lot of physical and mental effort has gone into ensuring that this historic national sports event will be a great success.

The 32nd SEA Games will be held from 5-17 May 2023, with only 45 days now left to go. The ASEAN Para Games will be held shortly after from 3-9 June 2023.

The Minister of Tourism and Permanent Vice-President of CAMSOC, Thong Khon, has shared that more than 11,000 athletes are expected to partake in the upcoming SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games hosted in Cambodia.
