INTERNATIONAL: A local soccer game in Bolivia was interrupted this week by the most unwelcome of guests. A 'dust devil' rolled its way across the playing field, just as the teams were lining up. It was the final of a small local tournament in the town of Achocalla, but the players had barely lined up for a photo, when the dust devil rolled across the pitch.
One player briefly lost his tracksuit top, but there were no injuries, and as soon as the dust devil had rolled away, the players got back to their pre-match photograph.
Dust devils are small whirlwinds that pick up dust and debris as they roll over land. They are often mistaken for tornados, which form with a downward motion of wind as opposed to upward.
