King and Queen Return Home After Health Check-Up in China

PHNOM PENH: The King and Queen Mother returned home safely on Thursday afternoon, 16 March 2023, after spending over a month in China for a routine health check-up.

King Norodom Sihamoni and the Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk left for Beijing on 12 February 2023.

Generally, the King and Queen Mother go to China for regular health exams twice a year.

The King will preside over the Southeast Asia (SEA) Games Torch Lighting ceremony at Angkor Wat on 21 March 2023, when the sun will rise directly over the peak of the temple. The ceremony will kick off the torch relay for the 32nd SEA Games which will take place in Phnom Penh in May.
