PM Blames Incompetent Ministers

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen blamed his cabinet for not being proactive in bringing problems to him and that some ministers were too lazy in their work.

During his address to the graduates of Build Bright University Wednesday morning, 16 March 2023, the Prime Minister called on his cabinet to invest in continuous learning and to not be lazy in their submitted work. He emphasized request letters submitted by ministers that often contain spelling and technical errors.

He specifically mentioned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Information and the Mine Action Authority, which are frequent offenders.

"Lazy from the bottom to the top, lazy ministers offend the Prime Minister with only a few months left [in the current political term], please do not be lazy." he said.

The Prime Minister suggested that the ministers should return to school, possibly at the Royal School of Administration. He also warned that the next mistake will be posted on social media.

Alternately, the Prime Minister praised the four ministries which are doing well, including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and the Ministry of National Assembly-Senate Relations, which have submitted well-written request letters in accordance with the rules.
