Phnom Penh Makes Up Half of Cambodia’s Total Electricity Consumption

PURSAT: Prime Minister Hun Sen has stated that Cambodia currently uses up more than 2,000 megawatts of electricity per day, of which more than half is supplied to Phnom Penh (more than 1,000 megawatts per day).

He said that electricity usage in Phnom Penh is high due to the increasing demand of high-rise buildings and the use of technology to alleviate the hardships of the people.

The Prime Minister made this statement while meeting with citizens who were impacted by the Stung Pursat 1 dam and given compensation in Veal Veng district, Pursat province, on Tuesday morning, 14 March 2023.
