Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Cracks Down on Rapid Test Kit Opportunists

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has taken action against those businesses who bought Rapid Test Kits only to sell them on for profit.

After a thorough investigation, the Ministry took action at five locations and confiscated 4,250 test kits that had been ordered from it. The Ministry says the test kits are not intended for profit-making but to help save lives.

Currently, the Ministry is continuing to import the rapid tests for distribution at a cost of just $3.70 and says it is distributing an average of 350 orders per day.

The Ministry says it will continue to cooperate with the competent authorities to identify opportunists and take stronger measures against those trying to profiteer in violation of the Ministry's guidelines.

Anyone coming across a business attempting to re-sell these test kits is invited to report the matter to 017 848 108, 067 818 782 or 077 867 957.
