PM Hopes No Country Will Lead Cambodia Into War Again

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has said he hopes no country will push Cambodia back into war again, further declaring that he will not tolerate those who want to destroy peace in the country.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony for students of the Institute of New Khmer on Monday morning, 6 March 2023, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that the intentions of some people and foreign entities have raised concerns about the return of war in the country.

"Hopefully, you will not burn by helping to initiate a color revolution that causes war in Cambodia," he said.

The Prime Minister added that back when Cambodians were dying in the war, foreigners tried to flee the country, but when peace was restored, they came back to make their criticisms.

"Hopefully, what I am saying might remind others not to make the third mistake I had mentioned a few days ago," he said.

“Any country that supported the Lon Nol coup played a part in burning Cambodia,” he added.

The Prime Minister asked those foreign countries to look at their fingerprints in Cambodian history and to stop bringing up the same issues again.
