PM Welcomes Opposition to Join CPP

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen, the President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), has announced that all those who have opposed the Royal Government in the past still have a place in the CPP, which they can join without discrimination.

The Prime Minister made this statement after some members of the opposition, both local and foreign, volunteered to join the government and the CPP. In addition, when Cambodia reopened its borders, members of the opposition who have been named in court have also been welcomed to return.

"Now that the people named in court can come back, I will work with the court (to help solve their issues)," he said.

The Prime Minister made this statement during the graduation ceremony for students of the Institute of New Khmer on Monday morning, 6 March 2023.
