Minister of Interior Urges People to Report Issues Through Facebook

PREY VENG: The Minister of Interior, DPM Sar Kheng, has openly accepted requests and suggestions of the people directly through his Facebook account to clear persisting issues on the local level.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for Preah Vihear district and the achievements of Wat Monireaksmey in Kamchay Mear district of Prey Veng province, on Sunday morning, 19 February 2023, the Minister of Interior requested the local people to cooperate in providing information to village, commune or any other relevant authorities, or through his Facebook account, to report any issues that may be persisting at the local level.

"I’ve opened a Facebook account to receive comments, suggestions, and requests from the people," he said.

DPM Sar Kheng said that in the less than two years since his social media page was established, he has received about 2,000 cases, requests and suggestions from people. He said he thinks this is a quick and effective way, using digital media, to report cases and solve issues as soon as possible.

The Minister of Interior also stated that all relevant officers must be equally open to receiving requests from the people and must listen to messages given in order to seek solutions to eliminate persisting issues on the local level.

The Minister of Interior, DPM Sar Kheng, has an official Facebook page titled, “Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister”, which was established in June 2018.
