China’s Top Diplomat Due In Moscow for Ukraine Talks

INTERNATIONAL: Top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi is due to arrive in Moscow on Monday to discuss Beijing's tentative plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict, having last week insisted that China was “on the side of peace and security.”

Wang arrived after attending the Munich Security Conference, where US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned him of consequences for China if it supplied more assistance to Moscow.

He also accused Washington of violating international norms with “hysterical behavior” before suggesting European countries “think calmly” about resolving the conflict and adding that there were “some forces that seemingly don’t want negotiations to succeed or for the war to end soon.”
