PM Instructs All Provinces to Maintain Cleanliness and Order to Receive Guests During 2023 SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on all provinces to work together to maintain good public order in order to be ready to receive athletes and other visitors during the upcoming 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2023, which will be hosted by Cambodia.

The Prime Minister said that it is not only Phnom Penh, Kampot, Kep, Sihanoukville and Siem Reap provinces that must do this work, but provinces all across the country should join in on this campaign to improve cleanliness, hygiene and public order so that they are ready to receive guests during the SEA Games.

"I think not only the cities where competitions will be held — Phnom Penh, Kampot, Kep, Sihanoukville and Siem Reap — should be ready, but the whole country should be well cleaned, because during that time, it is not only the athletes coming, but their supporters as well, and those supporters can visit other provinces outside those hosting [SEA Games events]," he said.

Prime Minister Hun Sen made these remarks during the graduation ceremony for students of the University of Human Resources on Monday morning, 20 February 2023, at the OCIC Conference Hall in Phnom Penh.
