PHNOM PENH: The new Korean Ambassador to Cambodia, Park Jung-Wook, during his meeting with Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs, DPM Prak Sokhonn on Thursday, 16 February 2023, affirmed that he will continue to support and cooperate with Cambodia.
Park Jung-Wook enjoys his role as the new Korean Ambassador to Cambodia, a country with a great history and cultural heritage.
He pledged to further enhance and strengthen the growing cooperation in all fields between the two countries.
DPM Prak Sokhonn noted, with appreciation, the skills and experience the new Korean Ambassador has in the fields of economy and trade, which he believes will further pave the way for strong cooperation between the two countries in those fields, especially given the new Free Trade Agreement between Cambodia and Korea that recently came into force, and the Free Trade Agreement on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
During the bilateral meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade and economy, health, labor supply, cooperation, military development, human resource development and justice and people-to-people relations.
The Cambodian Foreign Minister reiterated, with satisfaction, that 2022 was the best and most meaningful year in bilateral relations with the Republic of Korea due to the large number of high-level exchanges.
DPM Prak Sokhonn thanked the Republic of Korea for its commitment and assistance provided to supporting Cambodia's socio-economic development, with the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge Project being the latest example of the country's support.
