PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen and his high-level Cambodian delegation, returned to Cambodia on Tuesday afternoon, 14 February 2023, after a two-day visit to Vientiane, Laos.
While in Laos, Prime Minister Hun Sen first met with 86 Cambodian students studying in the country.
On Monday afternoon, he held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Laos, and the two were invited to attend the signing ceremony of the Cambodia-Laos Border Demarcation Treaty and the Action Plan for the Comprehensive and Long-term Strategic Partnership between Cambodia and Laos for 2023-2027.
The two leaders also witnessed the signing of the minutes on the Cambodia-Laos and Laos-Cambodia Joint Boundary Commission meeting, signed by Senior Minister in charge of Border Affairs and Chairman of the Cambodia-Laos Joint Boundary Commission, Var Kimhong, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos and Chairman of the Lao Joint Boundary Commission, DPM Salem Sarkommasit.
He then paid a courtesy call to the President of the Lao National Assembly, Saysomphone Phomvihane. Then in the evening of the same day, Prime Minister Hun Sen addressed a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Laos, Sonexay Siphandone, after the two sides concluded their bilateral talks.
Prime Minister Hun Sen also received the highest award, the "Phosay Lan Sang Medal", from the President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulit. Meanwhile, six other Cambodian businessmen also received medals for their contributions made to Laos in the fight against Covid-19.
