PM Receives Medal from President of Laos

LAOS: Prime Minister Hun Sen received the "Building Fossil Medal" from Lao President, Thongloun Sisoulith, on Monday afternoon, 13 February 2023.

The medal given to the Prime Minister recognizes how he helped Laos during difficult times, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, by providing vaccines, medical supplies and mobilizing donations from Cambodia to provide large sums of money to assist the Lao government and people in need.

The President of Laos and the Prime Minister of Cambodia also presented medals to six Cambodian businessmen who had helped provide funding to the Lao government for the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines. Among them are Kith Meng, Leang Khun, Leng Navattra, Guy Chhay, Ing Seav Meng and Ly Hong.

In 2021, the Cambodian government provided 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines and three vaccine trucks, in addition to a US $13 million donation to the Government of Laos to contribute to fight against Covid-19.
