British Navy Delegation Visits Cambodia to Strengthen Naval Cooperation

SIHANOUKVILLE: On Monday morning, 13 February 2023, British Navy ship HMS SPEY (P234), led by the Commander of the United Kingdom Navy, Cdr. Michael Proudman, docked at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port for a five-day visit to Cambodia from 13-17 February 2023.

The UK Navy delegation and associates paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Commander of the Navy and Commander of the Marine Base, Ouk Seiha, to strengthen the solidarity and good cooperation between the two navies. This is the first time a British naval ship has docked in Cambodia.

During this visit, there will be joint training held on firefighting training, naval retention exercises in case of emergencies, and other sports competitions between the Cambodian Navy and the British Navy in the name of learning and exchanging experiences.

The HMS SPEY- (P234) is 90.4 meters long, 13.5 meters wide and 4.3 meters deep, with a cargo capacity of 2,000 tons and a crew of 67 people.
