PM Rejects VOD Letter of Regret and Forgiveness Orders Ministry to Revoke Their Licence

Phnom Penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, could not accept the regret statement from VOD Radio, and he has decided to order the Ministry of Information to revoke the license of VOD Radio, ending their broadcast from tomorrow morning at 10 am 13 February 2023.

Despite receiving a letter expressing their regret from VOD Radio, Prime Minister Hun Sen has decided to keep the order to revoke the license of VOD media.

He wrote on his official Facebook page: "Is it possible to use the word regret and asking for forgiveness instead of an apology?" For me it is not acceptable. In order not to go too far, I have decided not to accept your expressions of regret and asking for forgivingness instead of your apology, which is your dignity and honor.

From tomorrow, at 10:00 am February 13, 2023, the broadcast of VOD will stop and the Prime Minister also asked Phnom Penh municipality and relevant institutions to help protect the order and property of this radio to survive.

"We only block all kinds of radio broadcasts, but we will not affect their property," he added.
