JAKARTA: Cambodia was awarded 17 trophies at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2023 on Sunday, 5 February, in Jakarta, Indonesia. Five of those trophies were from the 4th ASEAN Homestay Awards, three were from the 3rd ASEAN Community Based Tourism Awards, another five were from the 2nd ASEAN Public Toilet Awards, and four were from the 2nd ASEAN Spa Services Awards.
According to the Director General of International Cooperation and Tourism Development at the Ministry of Tourism, Thong Rathasak, five Cambodian guesthouses – Eagle, Black Bear and Mien Mien in Koh Kong province; Trapaing Sangke in Kampot province; and Sambor Prei Kuk in Kampong Thom province – received ASEAN Homestay Awards.
Meanwhile, Trapaing Sangke Tourism Community in Kampot province, Koh Han Eco-Tourism Community in Stung Treng province, and Anlong Thom Tourism Community in Siem Reap province won ASEAN Community Based Tourism Awards.
The five winners of ASEAN Public Toilet Awards were Aeon Mall Phnom Penh, Public Toilet No. 4 in Preah Sihanouk province, Srah Srang Public Toilet in Angkor Institute, PTT Public Toilet in Koh Kong province, and Stop Pichnil Public Toilet in Kampong Speu province.
Finally, the four winners of ASEAN Spa Services Awards were SPA Temple at Zannier Hotel Phum Baitong in Siem Reap, JIVAPITA SPA in Phnom Penh's Royal Residence Hotel, SO SPA with LÓCCITANCE at Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort in Siem Reap province, and SPA at Naga World in Phnom Penh.
A total of 158 trophies were handed out for 'ASEAN Tourism Standard' at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2023 – 43 ASEAN Homestay Awards, 29 ASEAN Community Based Tourism Awards, 48 ASEAN Public Toilet Awards, and 38 ASEAN Spa Services Awards.
