Ministry of Labour Rolls Out Cash Support

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training is releasing another round of cash subsidies for those workers whose employment contracts have been suspended in the garment and tourism industries, as a result of Covid-19. The Ministry says a total of 3,180 workers from 32 factories and companies are entitled to receive the payments. They’re the 63rd round of cash subsidies.

Those whose jobs have been suspended for between 7 and 10 days each receive $15. There’s $30 for those who have been out of work for 11 to 20 days, and $40 for those whose work has been suspended for a month. The Ministry has contracted Wing to handle the payments. Those who are eligible for the subsidies should have already received a text message. They have ten days in which to collect their cash.
