More Than 40 Accidents Recorded on Expressway Over 3 Months

PHNOM PENH: More than 40 traffic accidents were recorded on the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville expressway over three months, from 1 October to 31 December 2022. This is according to a report from the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Mern Manavy, during the meeting to review the results of road safety work in 2022, and to set the direction for 2023, on Monday morning, 30 January 2023.

Over these three months, a total of 1,054,962 vehicles crossed the expressway, causing 38 accidents and damaging 46 vehicles, she said.

She added that fortunately, no one was killed or seriously injured during these accidents.

The 187-kilometer Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway was built with a total budget of US $2 billion invested by the China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC).
