Miss Cambodia Wins 'Best National Costume' at Miss Planet International 2023

PHNOM PENH: Miss Cambodia won the Best National Costume category at Miss Planet International 2023, held at Koh Pich Theater in Phnom Penh on Sunday, 29 January 2023.

Miss Cambodia, Pok Srey Leak, received the Best Costume Award for wearing a Rahu Chab Chan costume, exhibiting the beautiful culture and religion of Cambodia. Despite the costume's large size and some difficulties encountered while walking on stage, Miss Cambodia handled the situation well and wowed the judges.

One major highlight from the pageant was the presentation of the national representative video, which was filmed at Angkor Wat and received a lot of attention from the masses.

Prior to the main competition for the crown, all participating beauty queens from over 20 countries visited Angkor Wat and had a chance to explore the temples, wear Khmer traditional costumes, and also participated in a charity gala dinner to support child patients of Angkor Hospital.

Miss Cambodia finished in 6th place and won the best national costume award, while Miss Philippines took home the crown for Miss Planet International 2023.

This beauty pageant organized in Cambodia was a great opportunity for the Kingdom to promote its cultural tourism to various other countries in the world.
