CAMSOC President Calls on Citizens to Participate in Welcoming SEA Games Delegates to Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the National Organizing Committee for the 2023 SEA Games, DPM Tea Banh, has called on all citizens to be ready to participate in maintaining social order when welcoming the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games delegations to Cambodia.

Speaking at the 100-day countdown ceremony for the 2023 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games in Phnom Penh on Wednesday night, 25 January 2023, DPM Tea Banh said that Cambodia has been waiting for 60 years to host this historic sporting event.

He expressed hope that everyone in Cambodia will warmly welcome the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games delegations in the near future, and also called on all citizens to participate in this actively.

"We call on people all over the country to decorate their homes, communities, cities and countries to be clean and green, safe and secure, in order to appear attractive in the 2023 Visit Cambodia campaign, providing wonders and the warmest hospitality," he said.

A special program was held to commemorate the start of the 100-day countdown, featuring various artist performances and spectacles, that were broadcast live on TV and on social media. Additionally, the SEA Games mission chiefs from 10 Southeast Asian countries were invited to participate in the 100-day countdown ceremony, which demonstrates Cambodia’s readiness as host. Cambodia will host the SEA Games on 5 May 2023.
