Interior Minister Instructs Capital-Provincial Governors to Create Information Strategy for the Public

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Interior, DPM Sar Kheng, has instructed Capital-Provincial Governors to develop a clear information strategy to deliver information to the public so that they can understand and utilize public services effectively and inclusively.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the discussion and dissemination meeting on "Informational Political Strategy" at the Ministry of Interior on Thursday, 12 January 2023, DPM Sar Kheng said that information strategy is a way to disseminate information about the policies or public services that the state sets and provides to the people.

He continued that it is also a means of disseminating the achievements and accomplishments that the Royal Government has made. At the same time, the Royal Government also needs to receive information and requests from the people about their needs and challenges. Such requests are to be considered in formulating policies to help citizens.

He also observed that in the past, representatives of ministries and institutions at both the national and sub-national levels have made efforts to disseminate information both within the framework of their units and through the press conferences of the Royal Government Spokesperson's Unit to show the achievements and successes made by their units and institutions to the people. The DPM encourages representatives to keep making efforts in accordance with the "Informational Political Strategy".

At the same time, the DPM also requested that the Spokespersons of all ministries, institutions, and specialized units in the capitals and provinces continue to cooperate in strengthening the quality and unity of the information network within the capital-provincial administration. He requested for a single information mechanism to be set up to publish (in public forums and through correspondence on radio and social media) the achievements of sub-national administrations in accordance with government policies.
