Senior Official of Candlelight Party Meets with Hun Manet

KAMPONG CHAM: Prime Minister Hun Sen has revealed that a senior official of the Candlelight Party, Thach Setha, met with the future Prime Ministerial candidate of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, a few days ago. He did not, however, disclose the details of their meeting.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion and upgrade of National Road No. 7 from Skun roundabout to Kizuna bridge roundabout in Kampong Cham province on Monday morning, 9 January, Prime Minister Hun Sen confirmed that Thach Setha from the Candlelight Party mentioned the arrest of his party members while meeting with Lt. Gen. Hun Manet. In response, the RCAF Lt. Gen. reportedly said that if the Candlelight Party does not want to see its party members arrested, then they should not break the law.

The Prime Minister did not specify in detail what the two sides further discussed.
