Dam in Kbal Chhay Collapses, 3 Million Cubic Meters of Water Lost

PREAH SIHANOUK: The Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, Kouch Chamroeun, led a group of experts to inspect the collapse of the second cleanwater dam in Kbal Chhay on Saturday night, 7 January 2023.

The collapse of this dam resulted in the loss of more than three million cubic meters of water and the destruction of the water pump that moved water to a third dam, leading to the suspension and shortage of water supply in the province.

The Governor of Preah Sihanouk province said that there are currently more than four teams working on this issue and doing their best to get water transferred to the filter station as soon as possible.
