Areyksat Ferry Operations be Suspended for 7 January Victory Day Celebration

PHNOM PENH: The Phnom Penh-Areyksat ferry operators have announced that ferry operations will be temporarily suspended on 7 January 2023 for the celebration of Victory Day.

For the occasion of the 44th anniversary of 7 January Victory Day, the Phnom Penh-Areyksat, Phnom Penh-Chroy Changvar, and Diamond Island-Nora Island ferry services will suspend operations from 6 am until the end of the celebration program.

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) is holding a celebration for 7 January Victory Day at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center in Tonle Bassac commune, Chamkarmon district, Phnom Penh.

Authorities will also close the following streets for the smooth and safe running of the celebration:

1. Samdech Sothearos Boulevard, from the traffic lights at the Fisheries Department to Oknha Chhun Street (Street 240);

2. Preah Sisowath Street, from Samdech Chuon Nath Roundabout to Oknha Chhun Street (Street 240);

3. Preah Suramarit Boulevard, from Neak Banh Tuek Park to the Independence Monument;

4. Sihanouk Boulevard, from the Independence Monument to Neak Banh Tuek Park, and the streets around the venue.
