Man Fishing for Crabs Hit By Train and Killed in Forest

SIHANOUKVILLE: A fisherman was found dead on the railway on Tuesday evening, 3 January, following a search operation conducted by villagers and authorities. The fisherman had gone out to look for crabs on Monday night, 2 January, and had failed to return home.

The victim's family said that after he went missing, they reported it to the local authorities and had been searching around the usual locations where the man would go fishing for crabs, but to no avail. Later, a cattleboy found the victim dead on the railroad tracks with a severed leg.

According to local authorities, the victim did not die from being hit by the train, but because his leg was broken and no one was nearby to save him, he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

The victim and his family live in Kampong Chen village, Teuk Thla commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province.
