Construction of Tallest Buddha Statue in the World Will Start 4 January 2023 on Bokor Mountain

KAMPOT: The construction of a 108-meter-high Buddha statue on Bokor Mountain will hold its groundbreaking ceremony on 4 January 2023.

The Sokha Hotel recently announced plans to construct a 108-meter-high Buddha statue on top of Bokor Mountain at the 'Veal Srae 500', to serve as a sacred site for Cambodians, promote happiness and prosperity, and to attract national and international tourists.

The Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, DPM Chea Sophara, will attend the groundbreaking ceremony at Preah Monivong Bokor National Park in Kampot Province on 4 January 2023.

It should be noted that the government has permitted the Sokha Hotel to build the 108-meter-high Buddha statue on top of Bokor Mountain in accordance with a design approved by the inter-ministerial group, and with the support of the Board of Abbot of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
