Authorities will close some streets in Phnom Penh to celebrate the 44th anniversary of "January 7 Victory Day"

Phnom Penh:On the morning of January 7, 2023, the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) will commemorate the 44th anniversary of January 7 Victory Day (January 7, 1979–January 7, 2023) at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center in Tonle Bassac Commune, Chamkarmon District, Phnom Penh.

The authorities will close the following streets: 1. Samdech Sothearos Blvd. from the traffic lights at the Fisheries Department to Oknha Chhun Street (Street 240), 2. Preah Sisowath Street from Samdech Chuon Nath Roundabout to Oknha Chhun Street (Street 240), and Preah Suramarit Boulevard from Neak Banh Tuek Park to Independence Monument, and Sihanouk Blvd. from Independence Monument to Neak Banh Tuek Park and the road around the venue.

According to the announcement of the Phnom Penh Administration, the authorities will temporarily close the above streets so that the celebrations can run smoothly, ensure security, and avoid traffic jams.

The Phnom Penh Administration has requested that citizens have an understanding and tolerance and avoid traveling through the above-mentioned road sections on the dates specified. After the ceremony is over, the roads will resume its regular flow.
