PM: Dr. Sok Touch Should Focus on Controlling His Officials

KAMPOT: In response to a request by Dr. Sok Touch asking to pay salaries in cash, Prime Minister Hun Sen replied that this "Cannot be done," and told Dr. Sok Touch to focus on managing his own officials rather than wanting the Royal Government to move backward.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kampot-Kep road on Friday morning, 30 December 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen said, "I want the officials to know that I will not follow Sok Touch's request."

He advised Dr. Sok Touch to improve the Royal Academy of Cambodia's management rather than want the government to revert to the outmoded and problematic practice of paying in cash.

"Payment in cash creates a lot of problems. By paying through the bank, we have cleared more than 30,000 ghost officials,” said the Prime Minister.

He hopes that Dr. Sok Touch thinks about this issue again.
