BREAKING NEWS: PM Releases 6th Booster shot, Wants everyone to Get a Booster Shot Every 6 Months

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia wants children who have had their 4th and 5th booster to receive another booster and anyone who has had the 5th booster shot to get their 6th. Also, from now on, there must be a booster shot every six months.

In a special audio message on the night of December 29, 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that due to the spread of Covid-19 abroad and is concerned that the disease might spread in Cambodia. At the same time, some Cambodians have not recived enough Covid-19 vaccine shots. Today, Prime Minister ordered the fourth dose to be given to children aged 3 to 5 years, the fifth dose to be given to children aged 6 to 12 years and the sixth dose to frontline officials and the people.

"This is an arrangement to ensure the health and safety of our people," he said.

At the same time, he also wants to vaccinate everyone every six months after their last vaccination.

"This is to ensure that our people have a strong community," he said. "Otherwise, when the vaccine is weakened, the individual's immunity is weakened and it(virus) is easy to attack the weak, especially with Covid-19 is still present all over the world, including in Cambodia."

Prime Minister urged all those who have not yet received the vaccine to go and get vaccinated.

Prime Minister said that the problem in Cambodia is not the lack of vaccines for the people, the problem is that some people do not continue to get vaccinated.
