China Offers Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships to Nearly 70 Cambodian Students

Phnom Penh: According to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, 67 Cambodian students will receive scholarships to pursue masters and bachelors' degrees in China during the academic year 2023–2024.

The Chinese government offers scholarships in the fields of science, engineering, economics, business administration, medicine, and information technology, according to the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports,

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that students who receive scholarships by the Chinese government will pay for accommodation, tuition fees, and an allowance. Travel costs between Cambodia and China will be the responsibility of the student.

Candidates must be citizens of Cambodia, hold a bachelor's degree, be at least 35 years old, speak fluent English, and be in good physical and mental health in order to be eligible for the scholarship.

Candidates who wish to apply for the scholarship will have until January 9, 2023, to collect their application form from the Scholarship Office of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, located at Building 23, Street 360, Sangkat Boeung Keng Kang I, Khan Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh (about 50 meters east of Apsara TV station).

The Ministry of Education has set January 15, 2023, as the exam day for the master's degree in English. The exam time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. As for Bachelor's degree, the exam includes mathematics and general knowledge and lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Before the exam, the Ministry of Education requires candidates to bring 1 copy of the receipt, 1 copy of the scholarship application, 1 biography, 4 photos (4x6) (natural color, newly taken, white background), a bachelor's degree (1 copy) for Master's Degree, and a high school diploma or equivalent degree (one copy).

For verification, You will need bring the original degree, certificate of completion from the educational institution, student ID card for students studying at various higher education institutions, "Certificate of Employment" for candidates who are civil servants; 2 physical examination certificate (to be completed after the applicant has been selected)

According to the Ministry of Education, following the exam, the Ministry will choose 40 candidates for master's degrees and 27 candidates for bachelors' degree and send them to the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia for final assessment and selection.
