PHNOM PENH: His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni has congratulated Prime Minister Hun Sen on receiving the "Distinguished World Leader Lifetime Achievement Award" from the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia-Pacific.

In a letter dated Monday, 19 December 2022, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni congratulated and commended Prime Minister Hun Sen for all the achievements he has made for the benefit of the nation and the people of Cambodia, including his efforts to eradicate poverty and uphold the prestige of Cambodia.

The King noted that the Prime Minister had introduced effective health measures which helped Cambodia overcome the Covid-19 pandemic and save many people's lives. This allowed the country to recover quickly from the economic crisis caused by pandemic. In addition, as the rotating chair of ASEAN this year, the King commended the Prime Minister for successfully organizing the 2022 ASEAN Summit, bringing fame and honor to the country, and raising Cambodia’s prestige on the international stage.

"The people of Cambodia, as well as myself, are very satisfied with the steady development, day and night, under the talented leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo (full honorary title), Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia," the King wrote.

The Distinguished World Leader Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Prime Minister Hun Sen by the Global Chinese Economic & Technology Summit and the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia-Pacific.

The decision to present this award to the Prime Minister of Cambodia was made after the KSI Institute studied and evaluated his leadership qualities and achievements, deeming him worthy of the award. The Institute noted the Prime Minister’s ability, wisdom, and conscience for the nation and people of Cambodia, acknowledging that he has been working tirelessly to bring Cambodia peace, tranquility, progress, and prosperity.
