Police in Battambang Province Arrested Armed Drug Dealers

Battambang: Authorities in Sangkae district, Battambang province, confiscated a pistol and several packages of drugs after detaining three suspects in front of Pou Poy warehouse in Chumnic village, Anlong Vil commune, Sangkae district, on December 18, 2022.

During the operation, the police arrested one suspect, Heung Rathmony, alias Khla, a 35-year-old man, residing in Os Touk village, Kampong Preang commune, Sangkae district, Battambang province. He is known by police and has a criminal record. Khla has been jailed twice before once fort heft and once for illegal possession of drugs.

The police confiscated 7 transparent plastic bags containing white powder weighing 1.99 grams each (suspected to be drugs), 2 mobile phones, a wallet with 23,500 Khmer riel, 1 black motorcycle model Honda Winner, and one GLOCK19 pistol with 30 bullets.

After arresting and obtaining Heung Rathmony confession on the same day, police arrested two more suspects, Mai Kimhoy, a 30-year-old man from Kach Rotes Village, Kampong Preang Commune, Sangkae District, Battambang Province, and Heng Chetra, alias Chet, a 21-year-old man residing in Reang Krol Village, Reang Kesy Commune, Sangkae District, Battambang Province.

Evidence seized from Mai Kimhoy and Heng Chetras raid included 6 bags of white powder weighing 1.60 grams each (suspected to be drugs), weighing scale, some modified tools for drug usage, a wallet, and 2 mobile phones.

The suspects and seized items are currently being handled by the Battambang authorities for legal proceedings.
