Lt. Gen Hun Manet Praises IU School for Extending Capacity For High-quality Prestigious education

Phnom Penh: The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, presides over the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the International University (IU) on December 16, 2022.

L.t Gen Hun Manet praised the efforts of the management team, professors, and staff, which helped the university develop and expand its branches to the provinces, as well as their adherence to curriculum standards at a national and international levels.

He also praised the leadership to the entire management team, saying that the university has strengthened and expanded its potential in providing high-quality and prestige education in a national and international framework by responding to the needs of socio-economic development in the era of the future industrial revolution and digitalization, in collaboration with the public and private sectors as well as international institutes.

Lt. Gen. HUN Manet paid tribute to His Excellency the late Professor Oun Sabo, the International University's First Principal, who had a long-term vision to improve the education system by laying the groundwork for educational achievements, which have since continued to cultivate the wisdom of Cambodian children for the next generation.

He stated that these accomplishments reflect the vital role that the private sector plays in assisting Cambodia develop its human resources and meet the objectives of its educational development strategy, which is the foundation of socioeconomic development.

He continued saying that in addition to focusing on the development of human resources, the royal government has also been focusing on another aspect, which is ensuring the public's health.

"Because in order to achieve resilient and sustainable development and be highly competitive, the citizen must be knowledgeable, skilled, and healthy. Being healthy is a great asset and a crucial component of the process of a country's development."

In order to further develop the health and education sectors, he encouraged the leaders of the International University (IU) at all levels to continue to pay close attention to designing their curricula in accordance with national and international curriculum standards for all types of education (medical school and other education) that the international university is providing at all their branches.
