DPM Sar Kheng Urges Inter-Ministerial Committee to Strengthen Foreign Labor Inspection

Phnom Penh: On September 16, 2022, the Royal Government of Cambodia decided to establish an inter-ministerial committee to promote and monitor the work of foreign labor inspection in Cambodia and disseminate relevant policies and measures in enterprises such as casinos and clubs.

The Inter-Ministerial Committee was established with the aim of strengthening the work of foreign labor in Cambodia to be more effective in accordance with the laws and regulations and to promote the work of foreign labor and disseminate the relevant measures in enterprises such as casinos and clubs. In particular, to crack down on human trafficking, labor trafficking, sex trade and illegal gambling in Cambodia.

On the morning of December 16, 2022, the Minister of Interior, Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng, presided over a meeting to disseminate the decision of the Royal Government on the establishment of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the Promotion and Inspection of Foreign Labor.

Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng praised the leadership of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, the General Department of Immigration, the authorities, security forces, and many others who have made efforts in inspecting foreign labor to strengthen the implementation of labor laws in Cambodia.

Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister also urged the Inter-Ministerial Committee to fulfill its duties in the mission to crack down on human trafficking, labor trafficking, and illegal gambling in Cambodia.

Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and Deputy Director General of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the Promotion and Inspection of Foreign Labor, Mr. Sak Setha, emphasized that the Director General, Deputy Director General, and members of this Inter-Ministerial Committee have the authority to delegate duties to subordinates if necessary.
