ASEAN Chair Urges EU to join in defending UN Charter

Brussels: ASEAN Chair 2022 PM Hun Sen urges the European Union to join in defending and promoting the UN Charter.

Addressing the 45th ASEAN-Europe Anniversary Summit in Brussels, Belgium PM Hun Sen said that promoting the UN Charter is for stabilize and improve people's lives.

"As a two-region bloc based on the rule of law and responsibilities, ASEAN and the European Union must do their utmost to protect and promote the United Nations Charter and the laws, norms and principles recognized as International.

This year, EU and ASEAN celebrate 45 years of Dialogue Partnership. The EU Delegation to ASEAN – in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat and bilateral EU Delegations in the region – is organising a number of events and activities to mark the occasion.

The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, said before leaving for the summit that he would mention "peace" in the meetings he attended during his join the summit marks the 45th anniversary of ASEAN-EU relations.
