France: On the occasion of being welcomed by the French President at the Government House, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, thanked the French government for accepting Cambodians fleeing the war and the genocidal regime of Pol Pot.

In a joint conference between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the President of France on December 13, 2022, the two countries reiterated the long-standing ties and cooperation between the two countries.

PM Hun Sen thanked France for its significant contribution to the peace building and development process in Cambodia to date.

The French president also expressed his gratitude to PM and amazed at PM's courage in the war in Ukraine.

"While the war is raging in Europe, Samdech has decided to come to Paris to attend a conference on supporting the people of Ukraine within the framework of the continued implementation of UN resolutions condemning it," He said.

At the same time, Macron also praised Cambodia for its commitment to fighting climate change.

"This is a remarkable example of a country in managing rapid development with great energy policy in mind," he said.

In addition, the French President also reminded of the signing of the Paris Agreement in 1991 on peace in Cambodia to ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Cambodia for the reconstruction of Cambodia and reminded of the promotion and protection of peace in Cambodia.
