Conflict Over Mother Dead Body: Lawyer Reveals Mother's Will to Let Her Youngest Child in Charge

Preah Sihanouk Province: On December 12, 2022, following a dispute between three siblings over their mother's dead body in Stung Hav district, Preah Sihanouk province, the lawyer of the mother's body revealed her will made before her death, which left everything, including land and a house in Tumnup Rolok commune, Stung Hav district, to her youngest son, Sun Chivly.

In her will, which was issued on June 19, 2017, it was confirmed that the youngest son, Sun Chivly, was in charge of arranging the funeral for the mother and father when they passed away.

In the same will, the mother stated that the inheritance she left for her youngest son was free from coercion, intimidation, or violence. Prior to her death, she stated: "This will was made when I was able to correctly read and check."

The dispute between two sisters and their youngest brother over their mother's dead body went viral as the public expressed dissatisfaction and wondered why the authorities did not dare enforce the law on those who did not obey the mother's will.

Regarding this matter, lawyer So Sokbunthet confirmed to EAC News that only the court has jurisdiction over this matter. In other words, if the brother and sisters do not agree on the will of their mother, the unwilling party can file a complaint with the court and ask the court to review whether the will is real or forged.
