King Urges PWDs to Enhance Knowledge and Skills to Keep Up With Country's Rapid Development

PHNOM PENH: His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni has published a congratulatory message for the occasion of the 24th National and 40th International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which will be held on 3 December under the theme "Not All Disabilities are Visible."

The King complimented the Prime Minister of Cambodia for his efforts to improve living conditions and healthcare for persons with disabilities throughout the country.

Simultaneously, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni thanked both national and international philanthropists for their donations of food and other supplies to aid people, particularly those with disabilities, during the fight against Covid-19.

On this wonderful occasion, the King encouraged persons with disabilities to keep working on enhancing their knowledge and skills in order to keep up with the rapid development of Cambodia and to be able to compete in the labor market to achieve a better quality of life. This is in line with the objectives of the Royal Government to make Cambodia reach high-middle-income country status in the future.

At the same time, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni also urged all citizens to continue promoting the rights of persons with disabilities in Cambodia without discrimination in order to create an inclusive society.

"Persons with disabilities need warmth, love, and friendship in order to develop themselves without experiencing discrimination from society," said the King.
