PM Asks Newspapers That Criticized Royal Govt’s Covid-19 Response if They Have Any Regrets

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has asked some journalists from developed countries who criticized the Royal Government for being weak in its Covid-19 response whether they have any remorse for their comments.

The Prime Minister said that these criticisms did not refer to the health system being strong or weak, but rather commented on the management and leadership.

He made these remarks during the celebration of the 10 + 1 Year Anniversary of Japanese company Minebea’s operations in Cambodia.

It should be noted that at the time of the Covid-19 outbreak in Cambodia, some foreign media groups, including some foreign-backed newspapers in Cambodia, wrote two attacks on the Cambodian health system criticizing the government's response measures as being ineffective. But the Prime Minister stated that we can now see the contrary, as Cambodia has reopened its economy and is successful in its handling of the pandemic today.
